Superman Remixed

Like my "Bat-Man" Remixed [link] , this is an "amped" up version of how Superman looked in his first appearance, Action Comics issue#1 in 1938. Much like The "Bat-Man" of 1939, Superman was also much different in his early stories. For starter, the police and local government HATED & FEARED him, when they saw him they'd always shot first and ask questions later! He also wasn't the type of "boy-scout" that we would normally think of him as today, he fought for a more liberal, social agenda. His villains were not always just mad scientists of evil space invaders, but rather (more commonly) lynch mobs, wife beaters ,corrupt bureaucrats and (of course) Nazis . He was a champion for the PEOPLE & morally what was right, as opposed to the almost cop-like persona and American poster boy that he is today (ironically, Superman was created by two Jewish men from Canada! lol) . One major difference people may note was that Superman did actually kill some of his villains!

There are many differences between the Superman of 1938 and the Superman of today, but I hope that I can help fans remember what many have seem to have forgotten , that this is how he was originally created to be, this is the man of tomorrow, SUPERMAN!

As for the picture- I modeled my Metropolis after Fritz Lang's 1927 silent film "Metropolis". As for Superman-I modeled his face after the actor Clark Gable, who was also the inspiration behind the pulp fiction character Doc Savage, who in turn, inspired Superman, so it only made sense to model him after Clark Gable. As for the outfit- I based it on both Superman's original outfit from Action Comics issue #1 and the traditional athletes attire of the early 20th century.
